This chunky sterling silver chain was handmade link by link from heavy gauge Argentium Sterling Silver. I created each link by hand, formed them, soldered shut and added a soft hand hammered texture all around so that the silver would catch and reflect the light beautifully. I have always loved a statement chain necklace with big links and I wanted to create one that that the links wouldn't flip around as you wear it which is a problem I have always had with big link styles. When they come around the sides of your neck, large links like this can tend to flip and flop causing the whole chain to sit wrong. I realized to solve this issue, each link needed to be able to spin independently. Then if it got twisted or turned it wouldn't affect the other links at all and would give the entire piece a way to lay flat and conform to the exact shape of your neck up and around the sides. I achieved this with the use of heat rivets which I created for each link and used them to connect the entire chain together. Now each link can spin around freely without disrupting the link next to it for a really functional chunky statement chain. I also love the bonus these heat rivets add a silver ball to the inside of each link which is a really unique detail! I decided this also needed to have a nice clasp as the weight of the chain is significant and I didn't feel that a lobster claw would complement the chunky style so I handmade a toggle clasp with 5 circles so it's adjustable from 18"-20" and you can get a perfect fit. The toggle clasp is very secure as I made sure that the length of the bar is more than double the opening of the circles it goes into so it can't slip off. I give this entire necklace a high reflective shine to catch the light perfectly. Truly an outfit maker!

The links measure approximately 1.8" x 0.9". Since these are formed by hand and meant to be somewhat organic in shape the size can vary slightly from link to link.
