I wanted the stones to have some movement and allow light to pass through them, but rather than simply hanging them from a chain, I decided to create a curved silver element that would become part of the design.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI started with a heavy gauge of Argentium Sterling Silver wire, shaping each piece into an asymmetrical curve with one side slightly shorter than the other. I flared the ends, then carefully hammered both sides to create a beautiful texture. After drilling the ends, I suspended the aquamarine gemstones using silver head pins that I also made by melting the ends of silver wire into little balls.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe aquamarines were really what inspired the design. Both shapes have this lovely, somewhat unusual dusty denim blue color that reminds me of a stormy sky.
