These aqua chalcedony dangle earrings pair glowing blue green gemstones with sculptural handmade Argentium sterling silver for an easy to wear design.

I love the color of aqua chalcedony. These faceted stones have a milky, translucent blue green color that seems to glow when the light hits them. They always remind me a little bit of the beach, summertime and the sky, and I love how soft and luminous the color feels.

I created the silver drops in a simple leaf shape, hammered around the rim and flared the silver through the center. I then gave each drop a subtle twist in opposite directions so the two earrings are mirror images of one another. That little bit of dimension completely changed the design. As the earrings move, the curved surfaces and hammered edges catch the light from different angles, giving the drops a really sculptural look.

I polished the silver to a high shine to catch the light beautifully and created handmade ear wires that repeat the leaf shape of the drops. These ear wires are a little longer than a traditional hook but shorter than some of the elongated ear wires I make. If you prefer a simpler look or shorter overall length, standard French hooks or secure lever backs are also available.
