These Guatemalan jade orbit earrings pair checkerboard faceted blue green gemstones with dimensional hand hammered Argentium sterling silver circles for beautiful movement and shine.

• Materials: Natural Guatemalan jade and solid Argentium sterling silver
• Size: Approx. 1.9" total length; top circle measures approx. 0.65" (16.5 mm) across and largest lower circle measures approx. 1.1" (28 mm) across

I love the unusual color of this natural Guatemalan jade. Rather than the darker green you might immediately picture when you think of jade, these stones have a beautiful soft blue green color. The checkerboard faceting across the surface catches the light beautifully and gives the gemstones an unexpected sparkle.

I started the earrings with solid hand hammered silver circle studs, then suspended two additional circles below each stone. The circles are connected in different directions so they seem to orbit around the jade as the earrings move. It gives the design a dimensional, almost spherical appearance that is difficult to fully capture in still photographs, so be sure to check out the video to see the movement and construction from different angles.

The silver circles have a subtle hand hammered texture and are polished to a high reflective shine to catch the light beautifully from every angle. These have a substantial presence on the ear, but the open circle construction keeps them comfortable to wear. I especially love the combination of the bright dimensional silver with that little flash of sparkle from the faceted blue green jade.
