Quartz Crystal Wrapped Bracelet

This one of a kind handmade clear quartz bracelet combines natural faceted rock crystal cubes with substantial Argentium Sterling Silver wirework for a unique design that's equally beautiful dressed up or worn every day.

I really enjoyed working with these beautiful clear quartz cubes because the holes in the gemstones were large enough to accommodate a heavier gauge of silver wire. This allowed me to give each stone a substantial wire wrap, continuing the silver around the outside of the cube in a decorative spiral. The extra wirework adds texture and gives the bracelet a wonderful, solid feel.

To connect the stones, I made small circles from heavy square silver wire, carefully sizing them to complement the width of the quartz cubes. I created these connectors by coiling the square wire, cutting each circle individually, and welding them closed. Keeping the connectors close in size to the gemstones gives the bracelet a streamlined appearance, even with all that beautiful chunky silver detail.

I also chose a heavier lobster claw clasp to balance the weight of the bracelet and make it easy to put on and take off. The extender chain is handmade, and I finished it with a little Herkimer diamond crystal. I originally considered dangling another quartz cube from the end, but I loved the idea of using something a little different. Herkimer diamonds are naturally formed quartz crystals with their own angular, naturally faceted shapes. I thought this little crystal was the perfect complement to the geometric cubes, adding a touch of raw, natural beauty to the design.

The clear quartz cubes have lovely clarity and sparkle, along with natural inclusions that give them character and a beautiful glow. Because the stones are clear, there isn't a strong color contrast between the gemstones and the silver. Instead, the beauty comes from the combination of textures, reflections, and sparkle.

What I especially love about this bracelet is the balance between its chunky, slightly edgy construction and its elegant appearance. The geometric stones, substantial silver, and spiral wirework give it a unique, artistic feel, but the clear crystals and bright silver keep the overall design wonderfully versatile. I can easily imagine wearing it with jeans and a T-shirt or dressing it up for a special occasion. It's one of those pieces that feels distinctive without being difficult to wear.
