This one of a kind rainbow moonstone statement ring pairs a blue flash gemstone with sculptural high polished Argentium sterling silver.

This rainbow moonstone has a beautiful icy blue flash that appears across the surface as the light hits it. I really love the way that little burst of cool blue color stands out against the bright finish of the silver.

The base of this ring was created by melting pieces of sterling silver together in a very serendipitous process. It is something I experimented with quite a bit, but there is no way to completely control how the silver will move or join as it melts. Every result is different, and when this particular piece came together, I thought the flowing lines and open spaces in the silver were so beautiful that I did not want to add much to it.

I kept the silver bright rather than oxidizing it and added a hand hammered texture to give the surface some extra dimension. The combination of the openwork, hammer marks and high polish gives the light so many different surfaces to hit as the ring moves.

This is a substantial statement ring with a 29 mm wide top, but it is incredibly comfortable to wear. The wide sculptural silver hugs the finger while the double band gradually comes together toward the back, leaving just a small space between the two bands. That narrower shape underneath makes the ring comfortable and also helps keep the larger top from spinning around too much on the finger.

I really love how this one came out. It has a substantial feel and plenty of presence on the hand, but the open areas and flowing lines keep all of that silver from feeling too heavy visually. The bright polished finish and icy blue moonstone give the entire piece a beautiful clean look while still feeling funky, organic and completely unique.
